Remote Support remains one of our fastest-growing services lines, and this year we’re doubling down on innovation. With expanded use of assistive and emerging technologies, we’re advancing more personalized support that brings reassurance, reminders, and real-time assistance right when you need it. Our goal is simple: make independence easier to access, while continuing to serve individuals across Ohio through our evolving Remote Support model.
Our Adult Day Service is expanding opportunities for growth through strong community partnerships, integrated work experiences, and volunteer involvement. These pathways help individuals build skills, explore interests, and share their talents in meaningful ways. For those supported in their homes by our Residential team, we’re enhancing skill-building, medication support, and community engagement, ensuring every home remains a place of comfort, growth, and possibility.
Shared Living will continue to center on strong, supportive relationships between individuals and caregivers who provide around-the-clock support and companionship. Through ongoing education and resources, our DSPs are also equipped to offer Respite Services, giving families time to rest and recharge. Meanwhile, our Community Transition supports are evolving to better assist individuals moving from institutional settings, with expanded help for household setup so each new beginning feels like home from the first step.
2026 is shaping up to be a year of growth and momentum. As we strengthen and expand every service line, TruCare remains committed to empowering independence and fostering connection. With our roots strong in Ohio and an eye exploring new communities, we look forward to all that’s possible together.
Spotlight of our Adult Day Services: Deago’s Story
Our Adult Day Service (ADS) Program is all about connection and growth. We’re excited to highlight one of our longtime participants, Deago, and share a few reflections from both him and our ADS Director, Clarisa Leveridge.
Clarisa shared that Deago has been part of our ADS “for about 5 years…longer than I’ve been the Director, maybe almost as long as we’ve had an Adult Day Service Program.” His consistency and presence have made him a valued member of our community.
When asked what he enjoys most, Deago didn’t hesitate: “Going on outings.” Whether it’s exploring the community or joining group trips, outings are a highlight that bring excitement and growth. With that in mind, Clarisa noted that Deago has made great strides in respecting others’ belongings and managing impulses. These milestones reflect the supportive environment of the ADS, where individuals work on personal goals while enjoying meaningful activities.
Deago shared that he likes spending time with “anybody” while at the ADS. His openness to friendship and connection embodies the spirit of our program. When asked how the ADS makes him feel, Deago said simply, “pretty good.” One of our measures of success is how our participants feel day-to-day and for Deago, the ADS brings positivity and comfort. Finally, Deago was asked something he’d tell a friend about TruCare, Deago summed it up perfectly: “I like it here.”
Our ADS Program is open Monday through Friday, 10AM - 3PM, offering a welcoming space for individuals to connect, grow, and thrive. Every day includes opportunities for paid and unpaid activities throughout the community, tailored to each group. For those who stay in, the day includes our Core 4 structured activities:
Physical Activity: Low-impact options like yoga or a dance party
Creative Activity: Hands-on drawing, painting, or even tie-dye days
Helpful Activity: Tasks like cleaning up throughout the ADS to build responsibility
Immersive Activity: Journaling, “sharing is caring” time, or current events discussions
Whether in the community or in-house, our program is designed to foster independence, inclusion, and growth. To get started, or even just schedule a tour to learn more, call us at 1-855-TRUCARE (878-2273) or send us a message on our website www.trucare.life.

Social Media Advocacy Toolkit
Your voice is powerful. Sharing your story helps others understand your experiences, builds community, and can inspire change. Social media is one way to connect, educate, and advocate for yourself and your community. These strategies we’ve put together, inspired by guidance from The ARC’s Advocacy Toolkit, are designed to help individuals feel confident and supported as they use social media to tell their stories.
The heart of advocacy lies in storytelling. Your story is unique and it matters. Sharing important moments from your life, whether it’s a personal achievement, a challenge you’ve overcome, or an everyday experience, can help others understand your perspective. There is no “right” way to tell your story. You might choose to write it down, record a video, capture it in photos, or express yourself through art. What matters most is that the format feels comfortable and authentic to you. Once you’ve created your story, you can share it with people you trust, whether that’s on your own social media pages, through advocacy groups, or with agencies you work with.
Advocacy also happens in smaller, everyday interactions, such as commenting on posts or responding to discussions. When engaging directly with others, it helps to remember a few guiding principles. Politeness sets the tone for respectful dialogue, while persistence shows commitment to your message. Patience is important too, because change often takes time. Preparing and practicing what you want to say can make your communication clearer and more effective. Above all, be personal and honest, sharing your own experiences builds trust and helps others connect with your perspective.
Equally important is knowing your rights when you advocate online. You are always in control of your story. Share only what you feel comfortable sharing and remember you have a right to know where your story will be shared and why. If your story is being used to support a policy issue, take time to understand and learn the basics of that issue so you feel informed. And if you are asked to sign a consent form before sharing your story with an agency, make sure you fully understand what it means. Consent is about choice and you should never feel pressured to share more than you want.
Safety is another key part of advocacy. Protecting your privacy online is essential, so avoid posting sensitive information like your address, phone number, or financial information. If you encounter harmful or disrespectful behavior, use the tools available on social media platforms to block or report it. Reviewing your privacy settings regularly can also help you control who sees your posts and ensure that your story reaches the audience you intend. Ask someone for help if you have any trouble navigating these tools.
Advocacy is not only about speaking up, it’s also about building community. Engaging with others by liking, commenting, or sharing their posts helps strengthen connections and amplify your voice. Joining online groups or networks focused on disability advocacy can provide support and amplify your voice. Celebrating your own achievements and those of others creates a positive environment that encourages inclusion and empowerment.
When telling your story, clarity and creativity go hand in hand. Keeping your message short and direct makes it easier for others to understand, while adding visuals such as photos, emojis, or artwork can make your posts more engaging. Ending with a call to action, like encouraging others to learn more, share your post, or support a cause, can help turn your story into a catalyst for change.
Finally, remember that advocacy is a journey, not a destination. Every story shared contributes to a larger movement toward inclusion, understanding, and empowerment. Your voice is valuable, and by using social media to tell your story, you are helping to shape a world where all voices are heard and respected.
Building a More Accessible Community: ADA Improvements across Greater Cincinnati
At TruCare Provider Services, we believe accessibility is more than government standards, it’s a promise to ensure every member of our community can fully participate, connect, and thrive. Across Greater Cincinnati, exciting projects are both underway and recently completed, each guided by the principles of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Together, they reflect the region’s commitments to inclusion and safety.
Dyer Park Upgrades for All
Work is in progress in the West End of Cincinnati at Dyer Park, where accessibility and user experience are at the front of the transformation. New shade structures are going up to provide comfort, while ADA-compliant pathways and restrooms ensure all visitors can navigate and enjoy the space with ease. Updated signage and vibrant art installations will make the park not only functional but also a welcoming community hub.
Court-Van Meter Pedestrian Bridge
A MAJOR $13 million project is reshaping how pedestrians move between Mt. Adams and downtown Cincinnati. The Court-Van Meter Pedestrian Bridge Replacement, expected to be completed in Fall 2026, will consolidate two aging bridges into a single, shared use path spanning I-71/471 and Gilbert Avenue. With a new stairway and an ADA-compliant ramp leading to East Court Street, the bridge will provide safe, accessible passage for walkers, cyclists, and wheelchair users alike.
Owl’s Nest Park
Nestled between East Walnut Hills, O’Bryonville, and Evanston, Owl’s Nest Park is undergoing a remarkable transformation thanks to local leaders who began fundraising efforts in 2021. Renovations include a revitalized Pavilion with a plaza and stage, ADA-accessible restrooms, and ADA-designated parking. Concrete pathways will connect the Pavilion to the rest of the park, while consistent lighting along paths will enhance safety and visibility. Barriers along Madison Road will add safety for visitors.
EZ Connect Pilot Project
Accessibility doesn’t stop at parks and pathways, it extends to how we move across the region. The EZ Connect Pilot Project, a collaboration among Cincinnati Metro, the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK), and the Butler County Regional Transit Authority, is making travel easier for ADA-certified riders. For $8 per one-way trip, participants can enjoy seamless, one-seat paratransit rides across jurisdictions, provided they travel within three-quarters of a mile of fixed-route services. With electronic fare systems and rider feedback surveys, the program is paving the way for more inclusive, regional transit.
Cincinnati-Dayton Shared Use Path
Construction that began in 2023 has already delivered results along the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor. The Shared Use Path now features ADA-compliant curb ramps, crosswalks across SR 129 ramp intersections, and pedestrian signals at traffic lights. These improvements make every day travel safer and more accessible, ensuring that people of all abilities can move confidently through the area.
From parks and bridges to transit and shared-use paths, these projects embody the spirit of inclusion. They remind us that accessibility is not just about compliance, it’s about creating shared spaces with all abilities in mind. TruCare Provider Services is proud to celebrate these milestones and continue advocating for a community that values connection and accessibility for all.
